The House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Border & Maritime Security held a hearing to examine security issues facing the border patrol workforce. Union officials representing border agents and officers testified. One of the issues they highlighted was the increase in number of assaults against their men and women. Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ) chaired the subcommittee while Rep. Filemon Vela (D-TX) served as the ranking member.
